Privacy Policy

House Battlepass (“House Battlepass,” “we,” “us”) turns household chores into a gamified Battlepass for families. A parent or guardian creates one account for the household; this policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who uses House Battlepass

Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not create accounts or sign in on their own — a parent sets up each kid profile, defines the chores and rewards, and reviews their family’s activity.

Information we collect

• Account information.The parent’s email address (and a password, stored hashed by our authentication provider). If you use Sign in with Google, we receive your name, profile picture, and email address from your Google account.
• Information you enter. Your household name, the kid profiles you create (a display name or nickname and an avatar you choose), and the chores and rewards you set up. You control what you enter — we recommend a first name or nickname for each kid, not a full name.
• Gameplay data. Chore completions, XP, streaks, tier progress, and rewards claimed or fulfilled, so your season persists.
• Public league (optional).If you opt your household into the public “Choremongers” league, your household and kids’ display names and weekly scores become visible to other families on the public leaderboard. This is off unless you choose it, and you can switch back to private at any time.
• Purchases (if you upgrade). Any paid plan is handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation that you subscribed; we do not store full card numbers.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your household account.
• To run the game — XP, streaks, tiers, the family leaderboard, and the optional league.
• To send you a sign-in link or account-related email when you request one.
• To keep the service secure and to improve it in aggregate.

Google user data & Limited Use

When you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile (name, profile picture) and email address, solely to create your account and identify you within the app. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it except with the service providers below who process it on our behalf.

Children’s privacy

House Battlepass is designed for a parent or guardian to manage on behalf of their family. Children do not create accounts, sign in, or interact with us directly — a parent enters and controls all profile information about a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

We encourage parents to use a first name or nickname (not a full name) for each kid profile, and to keep their household private unless they choose to join the public league. A parent can view, edit, or delete any kid profile and its data at any time from the dashboard, or by emailing us. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Service providers

• Supabase — authentication, database, and sign-in emails.
• Vercel — hosting of the website and app.
• Google — “Sign in with Google” authentication.
• Railway — background jobs that advance seasons, leagues, and streaks.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your household account is active. You can delete individual kid profiles or your whole household from the app, or email hello@housebattlepass.com from your account email address and we will remove your account and associated data.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
